New Data Protection Complaints Rules Are Coming. Are You Ready?

From June 2026, organisations will be required to facilitate the making of complaints relating to data protection concerns.

For many organisations, this will represent a structural shift in how issues are handled, from intake and escalation through to documentation and resolution. For others, it may expose a long-standing gap in processes that has simply never been tested under formal scrutiny.

This is not just another compliance update. It is a litigation and risk management issue that deserves strategic attention now. Organisations that prepare early will be far better placed to manage risk, maintain trust, and respond effectively when complaints arise.
