The Employment Rights Bill has recently received Royal Assent and has now become the Employment Rights Act 2025.

This follows the House of Lords backing down during the third round of parliamentary ping-pong last week.

The only substantive provision that has already come into force is the repeal of the provisions introduced by the Strikes (Minimum Service Levels) Act 2023.

We now await further details of the expected consultations and impact assessment for the removal of the unfair dismissal compensation cap.
