The Labour government has said it will publish the new Employment Rights Bill – a key element of its manifesto – within 100 days of taking power. Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner repeated this pledge yesterday at Labour’s party conference in Liverpool.

Labour took power on 5 July 2024 and 100 days from 5 July takes us to Saturday 12 October 2024.

However, Parliamentary Bills aren’t published on a Saturday. Fridays are normally reserved for Private Members’ Bills, which means if the Bill is published on the last day of the 100 day period (which is likely, given the political wrangling still going on), it will probably be on Thursday 10 October 2024.

That’s now just over 2 weeks away!
