If you are presented with a settlement agreement by your employer, you should be given a period of at least 10 calendar days to consider the offer, but it can be less if this is considered to be reasonable. Ten days is, however, the standard “cooling off” period and ACAS has issued a statutory Code of Practice on Settlement Agreements.
